We are planning on doing something similiar in telugu wikipedia. Our idea is that we will have a button in edit box toolbar which will convert the selected text in roman notation into unicode text. Most telugu people are familiar with a transliteration standard called RTS We have the javascript program and all we need to do is integrate into the edit box toolbar.

Our program is based on popular firefox extension called padma, an Indian language transliterator (http://padma.mozdev.org/). Take a look at it and let me know what you think of it? --Vyzasatya 18:29, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
